Bloombites: New Resources for OC Startups Available | March 10, 2021

by Neal Bloom

The Orange County tech scene has serial entrepreneur Richard Sudek’s fingerprints all over it. From taking initiative at the multiple local universities to catalyzing a de facto startup headquarters at The Cove, and coalescing local investors is just the tip of the iceberg of Rich’s successes and contributions.

It’s fitting that as he retires, local students have banded together to create the first investment fund to invest in other student-led startups. The new Crescent
Fund is investing throughout Southern California. Similarly, The Cove recently opened its support to any startup or researcher with affiliation to the University of California system.

It’s fantastic to see new resources being created that are leveling the playing field by opening access to all.

Rich, thank you. We wish you all the best in retirement and hope we can carry on your legacy with the foundation you’ve built.

Cheers,
Neal
