Bloombites: Tech Growth in Orange County | 10/14/2020

by Neal Bloom

As we roll deeper into fall, we are seeing the crunch time of feeling the end of the year already. While we’ll mostly be home for the holidays, a sense of urgency is always good for everyone. This is seen in the deal activity continuing to kick up below like Hyperice’s massive Series A and Newlight Tech’s Series F fundings.

But we can’t let the early stage activity get away from us. Just as companies grow and exit, we need to keep filling the top of the funnel with new startups. It’s great to see new cohorts being recruited at Evonexus OC, new companies join the OC4 Venture Studio, and UCI startups participate in local pitch competitions.

If you know of someone who’s interested in starting a company and doesn’t know where to go, send them my way and I’ll help get them oriented. Behind the scenes, we’re working on a digital orientation to help someone know where to go based on the stage they are at and hope to share it with you soon.

Stay safe and vote!
Neal
