And just like that, it’s half way through the year! It’s getting hot out and so is the local capital with the launch of a few new funds, like Aaron Rodger’s new RX3 , which is a $50M fund based in Newport Beach. His GPs include Nate Raabe and Byron Roth as well as other athletes as LPs.
Here’s hoping we can show some of the local consumer tech to the fund and highlight what we have cooking.
Also worth noting is EvoNexus’s new fintech program , which may be based in San Diego, but is looking to a lot of OC’s fintech experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cyber security for mentorship and deal flow. This should put a spotlight on what the region’s expertise is and help produce some excellent local companies.
